PARALLELS TO 1922
The old saying is that history repeats itself, and those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Or, possibly, those who learn history can anticipate the future.
For the first time since 1922, the executive branch, the Senate and the House of Representatives are controlled by the Republican Party. The Roaring 20s were characterized by a huge economic boom, and a laissez-faire approach to the economy. Although this boom ended because of immaturities in the banking system (and to some economists, wrong decisions by the federal government in confronting the crisis), the economic growth of the 1920s cannot be disputed.
Not only is it very likely that Pro growth legislation will be passed, and regulatory barriers reduced, the fact that one party controls all three institutions leads to less gridlock and more decisiveness on the federal level.
Going public, therefore, could very likely become closer on the horizon for many companies as the economy grows.
